OUR STORY

17_70327462_10104622568108252_3820867958

Lovely Louise Pictures is a collaboration between Vanessa Carr and Josh Gleason. Named after Josh’s grandmother, Louise Levy—who lived to be 113—Lovely Louise Pictures was created while living out of a van in Oregon as we began production for our feature-length documentary, Nomads.

A couple in filmmaking and in life, we are a nimble two person team—both directors and crew: Vanessa shoots and Josh records sound. The ability to stay small, and quarantine together, allows us to embed with our subjects for long stretches of time. We both have backgrounds in journalism, and approach our filmmaking with open-minded curiosity.
